Skip Navigation LinksITE College West wins 3rd Prize in Youth for Energy Video Competition

An ITE College West (CW) team of students has bagged the third prize in the Youth of Energy Video Competition. Launched in conjunction with the Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW), the Youth for Energy Video Competition aims to inspire youths to think creatively and share their thoughts on energy issues. The theme centered on ‘New Horizons in Energy’ saw 43 video submissions that encapsulated their innovative views of energy future. The CW team walks away with a cash prize of $1000.

Our winning team successfully produced a 2-minute video of a father and son who lives in an era where energy is limited and can only be produced through cycling. As he follows his father around to produce electricity, he sees the hardship and aspires to change the world for his father. The video garnered a total of 17,000 votes from viewers.

In total, five student teams from our Nitec in Digital Audio & Video Production course participated in the competition on 12th September 2013. Three course lecturers acted as project supervisors to the students. Miss Tam Kit Man, Miss Nur Raudhah Abdul Karim and Mr Aldinny Muzhafar guided the teams throughout the 1-week production process that included the planning, filming and editing of the video.
